Dimond Hi Five is a five-rib trapezoidal longrun. In this library it is 765 mm cover, 810 mm overall, 27 mm rib, 3° minimum cladding pitch, and a CoP drainage check after 40 m of run. Some Dimond listings show 755 mm cover — use the coil tag. The trapezoidal calculator defaults a low-pitch wing onto Six Rib; switch the profile to Hi Five for this product.
When 3° is the right number
The 3° is cladding pitch after deflection, the same distinction as CoP 7.1.1A for 27 mm asymmetrical trapezoidal. It is not permission to ignore flashings, Extra High cover, or a 40 m run. A roof drawn at 3° with wide purlins can still pond below the table.
Standard 16.5 mm corrugate stays at 8° / 15 m. Six Rib sits on the shallower 20 mm row (4° / 20 m). If the garage is 6°, corrugate is the wrong product; Hi Five or T-Rib can be in range if the named sheet agrees. See minimum pitch for corrugated iron.
Dimond currently lists Hi Five for South Island supply. Do not specify it for a North Island programme without written availability.
How to count it
Across the plane: ridge-direction width including verges, divided by confirmed cover, round up, once per plane. Example: 10.000 m ÷ 0.765 m = 13.07 → 14 sheets. Using 810 mm overall gives 13 sheets and a shortage.
Length is slope length including the eave drip, rounded up 50 mm on NZ Roof Tools. If that length passes 40 m on this CoP row, you get a run-length warning rather than a silent pass. Confirm the yard’s maximum cut.
Flashings are lineal metres on top of the sheet order. Extra High is Category B cover at every pitch. Waste follows hips and valleys, not a flat 10% — waste calculator.
Before you order
- Confirm Hi Five is actually in the yard for that island.
- Write cover from the current Dimond sheet or coil (765 mm vs 755 mm).
- Check as-laid cladding pitch against 3°, and run against 40 m.
- Split house, garage and porch if pitches differ.
- List ridge, barge, hip, valley, apron and penetrations separately.
